PRTM was founded in 1976 in Palo Alto, California. PRTM was incorporated as Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd ands McGrath. The firm added eastern United States operations in 1977. Theodore Pittiglio, Robert Todd, Robert Rabin and Michael McGrath its founding partners. Today, the firm named as PRTM. Since 1982, the firm began benchmarking business performance for its several clients. But in 1985, PRTM’s international expansion actually took off. Rabin and McGrath, the last of the original founders, retired in 2002 and 2004 respectively and left behind four managing directors in the firm. Scott Hefter is the global managing director of PRTM. Steve Hussey, who is a senior director at PRTM's Mountain View office, moved to Bangalore in 2005. He became the Managing Director of PRTM's India Practice. Numerous books were authored by PRTM consultants. PRTM publishes a quarterly print and online publication which is known as PRTM Insight. This provides senior executives with the newest way of thinking on operational strategy and innovation.
